Deputy General Manager / Bunker Trader

Job Description An exciting opportunity for a Deputy General Manager / Senior Bunker Trader to join an international trading firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute back-to-back bunker trading transactions, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of fuel products to our clients. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, and brokers to facilitate smooth trading operations. Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes to inform trading strategies and mitigate risks. Have a deep understanding of the bunker business, which includes ports, suppliers, owners, charterers, and regulations. Negotiate contracts and agreements with counterparties, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company. Collaborate closely with internal teams such as operations, logistics, and finance to optimize trading processes and maximize profitability. Stay updated on industry developments, competitor activities, and geopolitical factors affecting the bunker market.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 10 years' experience in back-to-back bunker trading, with a proven track record of success in a similar role. Has an extensive network of clients in Asia, and excellent relationship management with key stakeholders. Business development and business expansion. Strong understanding of the fuel market in Asia, including knowledge of fuel specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations. Excellent negotiation skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, monitor demands, and make informed trading decisions. Fluency in English as well as Chinese (Mandarin). Role is to be based in Hong Kong.
