The Governors of Pensby Primary School wish to appoint an outstanding Deputy Headteacher from September 2025. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and dedicated senior leader who is passionate about providing an inclusive, high-quality education where every child is supported to achieve their full potential. 

Our school is warm and welcoming, and our children are proud to attend Pensby Primary. With a dedicated staff team and engaged families, we are looking to appoint a highly experienced senior leader to further enhance the effective leadership of our school. 

As Deputy Headteacher, you will be specifically responsible for: 
Teaching and learning, ensuring excellent outcomes for all children.  
The leadership and development of the curriculum. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate: 
Strong leadership skills and the ability to support, challenge and inspire others, including children, colleagues and parents. 
Commitment to supporting and enhancing our caring community ethos;
They are an outstanding classroom practitioner, with a proven track record of raising standards and with the highest expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour; 
They will have the knowledge and skills to develop teaching and learning and raise attainment across the school in a number of subject areas;
They will be a dynamic and skilled professional, with an aptitude and impact in curriculum, assessment and pupil outcomes;
Our new Deputy will have the ability to lead a variety of teams effectively and contribute positively in a team environment; 
They will have experience of leading professional development; 
They will have deep knowledge of whole-school curriculum development; 
Our new Deputy will be an outstanding communicator with excellent organisational and people skills and one who leads by example with pupils, staff, parents, governors and the wider community; 
They will have high expectations and a clear vision of educational excellence;
They will show a caring and positive attitude to all children;
They will have a commitment to continuous school improvement and the raising of standards through self-evaluation and implementation;
Above all, they will be committed, enthusiastic, dedicated and creative.

Informal visits to school are highly recommended and are planned for the following dates: Wednesday 12th February at 4pm, Thursday 13th February at 4pm or Monday 24th February at 1pm.
