We are an inclusive family run medium sized children's day nursery recruiting for an enthusiastic Deputy Manager/Room Leader who is passionate about Early Years education. We offer a competitive salary, and you will have at least 2 years previous experience in childcare, with a current first aid and a safeguarding qualification. Continual professional development will be given.
Responsibilities
· Assist the Nursery Manager in the overall management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards to Ofsted requirements.
· Lead and motivate a team of childcare professionals, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
· Develop and implement an age-appropriate play based Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) curriculum, both indoors and outdoors, that enables children to make individual progress and have fun.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow, ensuring Health & Safety guidelines are adhered too.
· Communicate professionally with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
· Manage daily administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, new registrations, record keeping, reporting, newsletters, show-arounds and any other necessary administrative duties.
· Support staff development through training opportunities and performance evaluations and appraisals.
· Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
· Attending and assisting the manager with all staff meetings and to forward plan curriculum events and growth of the setting.
Qualifications
· A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education and equivalent experience in childcare settings, up to date first aid and safeguarding training.
· Knowledge of SEND is desirable, but not essential, as training can be provided.
· Proven experience working with children in a nursery or similar environment.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
· Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written and using IT equipment.
· A genuine drive for nurturing children's development and well-being.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
· Knowledge of current childcare practices and regulations.
