ABOUT THE ROLE
You will work with the Multiplatform Editor on a small but dynamic brand team to develop and implement an online content strategy for the Red. This role will support running the site day-to-day, focussed on growing traffic, engagement and e-commerce revenue through news, fashion, features and SEO. You will also assist with newsletter strategy for Red’s twice weekly newsletters, as well as helping to develop the new Love Red membership offering and delivering Red’s exciting brand plans for the year ahead.
You will create best-in-class content that drives digital reach and engagement of our target audience, balancing both editorial excellence and revenue generation with a focus on fashion, beauty, entertainment and wellbeing. Write, commission and edit content for Red’s website, ensuring consistent tone. Use analytics tools and data to adjust, mould and accelerate Red’s digital strategy, helping to ensure monthly targets are met. Support the Multiplatform Editor in developing and executing an engaging newsletter strategy that drives traffic and encourages new sign-ups. Help collaborate on an SEO strategy with the SEO team, growing traffic across all key pillars. Work with central Hearst hubs to ensure appropriate content is repurposed and distributed for digital with search, engagement and e-commerce in mind. Help ensure factual accuracy and legal safety of copy. Forecast trends within a digital landscape that can support brand growth and audience development. Help develop and manage Red's redesigned app offering. Take every opportunity to grow Red’s “known” audience data pool. To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values. You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.
ABOUT YOU
A proven track record of working on a digital brand at a senior level. An enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to multi-task, remaining calm and professional under pressure. A strong eye for stories that will generate clicks and engagement, and the ability to write and edit news at speed to capitalise on traffic potential. Skilled at using data to develop content strategy, and comfortable using Google Analytics and other insight tools to inform content and set targets. A solid knowledge of both SEO and e-commerce, and how to build a strong search strategy that results in both traffic growth and revenue with the best possible UX. A thorough understanding of social platforms, from Facebook to Instagram, and how to use them to grow brand.Please include the following in your application: Pitch three engaging Google Discover-friendly headlines for pieces that could work on Red online (two fashion, one entertainment) along with the SEO keywords you’d use for each. For the fashion pieces, please also share the brands you would include in these.
