Deputy Offshore Installation Manager - FOU (Secondary Steel)

TRS Staffing have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Offshore Installation Manager.
The role will see you be the Deputy offshore Installation Manager for installation of Foundation Secondary Structures.
Initially you will be onshore based, before transitioning to offshore based with the start of construction in April 2025.
The Role
Onshore activities include:
• Attending and contributing to project meetings, including chairing relevant coordination meetings
• Review offshore transport and installation concepts
• Review (and challenge where required) method statements and risk assessments of offshore contractors in order to de-risk offshore activities
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders in relation to all aspects of project’s T&I planning and preparations for construction
When offshore, the Deputy Installation Manager shall report to the Offshore Installation Manager and:
• Ensure that tasks are completed safely, on time, and with due-consideration and attention to the project requirements (RAMS) for the assigned scope of work.
• Review health and safety documents as required before execution phase commences and keep updated on changes in the documents
• Monitor HSE performance on board in collaboration with the Installation Manager. Highlight any of particular note or concern toward Offshore Installation Manager and HSE team.
• Participate in safety walks with health and safety representatives from the Project Company and Contractor. Identify and report any safety-related observations on a day to day basis whilst performing primary duties.
• Assist in the preparation of Daily Progress Reports (DPR) which will include progress of the works, mechanical breakdown, weather downtime etc.
• Ensure Contractor compliance with technical/operational requirements and that works are executed in a safe manner and to the required quality
• Attend daily meetings, toolbox talks and other discussions as well as package/project meetings. Aligning and escalating topics (as necessary) to the Offshore Installation Manager.
• Participate in meetings (including pre- and post-installations) to review performance, lessons learned, and future improvements.
• During all defined key activities and otherwise as often as practicable be present as a witness during installation.
• Participate, together with project QC representative in walkdowns, progress monitoring, identification of non-conformance and witnessing in accordance with project Quality Management Plan and inspection plans.
Your Profile
• Minimum of 4-years’ experience of similar services in offshore renewable industry
• Working knowledge of offshore construction contracts with a good understanding of the contractual implications of breakdowns, delays, weather downtime etc.
• Strong technical skills and significant proven experience in the construction, installation of offshore wind energy structures (Preferably in the installation of monopiles or secondary steel).
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and observe (offshore) operations and ensure these are carried out according to the contractual requirements (e.g. understanding of reasonable endeavours clauses)
• Experience with heavy lift vessels (preferably jack-up vessels)
• A good understanding of the relevant Transport & Installation concepts and processes
• Experience of large-scale infrastructure projects and consultations
Certifications
• Degree in civil / structural engineering, naval architecture, ocean engineering, or a closely aligned discipline.
• GWO Training: Sea Survival, Working at heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling.
• Current valid medical certificate and examinations for offshore work according to legal requirements.
• IT proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet) Optional: drafting software (DWGtrueview, AutoCAD or similar)
• Experience using inspection/auditing software in a construction environment (desirable).
