Deputy Operations Manager - New York

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a deputy Operations manager to join our New York City Project and Program Management team who can bring a wide range of experience gained working on New York City transit, transportation and related infrastructure development projects.  Ideally experience gained in working with and within city agencies as well as strong connections and relationships with the consultant community. This role will support the growth of Arcadis’s mobility practice and enhance its standing in the transportation and rail construction industries.  In this role you will report directly to the PPM Operations Director for the New York region. 

Role accountabilities:

Contribute to and continually enhance and execute our growth strategy and marketing plan. Supervise existing operational resources by engaging and mentoring staff while maintaining their utilization. Manage existing clients and contracts by providing quality assessment and control. Work with the Business Development teams by soliciting and responding to task orders issued through prequalification’s and On‐Call contracts. Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit staff to address clients’ needs as determined through positioning, task order solicitations, and Requests for Proposals.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree either in Urban Planning, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar field. 15+ years of industry experience, the focus will be on both operational and strategic leadership, driving growth and ensuring project delivery excellence. 

Key Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge, experience and established relationships within New York City Agencies focused on infrastructure development Proven experience in project management and familiarity with project management software and tools Proven client relationship management Effective people management skills Experienced in mentoring of individuals and teams Ability to work on multiple issues in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
