Deputy Practice Leader / Account Director

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as an Account Director and Deputy Practice Lead for our Manufacturing and Industrial practice.

In this dual role, you will not only leverage your skills in client relationship management to deliver tailored risk management solutions on complex, high-value accounts within the manufacturing and industrial sector, but you will also support the Practice Lead in driving strategic initiatives and growth, and fostering collaboration across the team. The Role

As Deputy Practice Lead, your responsibilities will include supporting the Practice Lead in the following areas:

•    Manage, motivate and develop the skills, competencies and knowledge of team members
•    Maintain staff competence by ensuring skills and knowledge needs are met with appropriate training and development.
•    Work with HR and other stakeholders on pipelining and recruitment needs
•    Provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the team maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale.
•    Develop and maintain good working relationships across Industry Practice Group teams, regional teams and sales leaders.
•    Identify and manage key external and internal stakeholders (incl business developers, service teams, professional bodies, trade press) in the promotion and delivery of the sector specific plans.
•    Work with the sales teams to produce and deliver the growth strategy.
•    Attend prospect and new client meetings as appropriate.
•    Develop Industry Practice capability across the GB Retail distribution as required – share knowledge and develop training / communication plans.
•    Represent M&I within WTW and actively participate in conjunction with GB Retail strategy.

As an Account Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Ultimate responsibility for the provision of the required services to the client.
•  Understand the clients’ business and their risk management needs and look for solutions to deliver those needs through the provision of ongoing service.
•  Identify primary budget holders and decision makers within clients, establish and maintain active relationships with these people.
•  Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required.
•  Draw on expertise within specialist technical teams within the BU and across the Group for clients as required.
• Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and deliver profitable business for a range of clients.
• Lead supporting service team.
• Maintain effective working relationships with Claims Advocates to effectively deliver clients’ needs.
• Business Development: To actively drive the sales process in relation to winning, retaining and developing profitable new clients.
• Placement Management: To deliver optimisation of revenue from new and existing clients using the full range of appropriate placement channels.
 

The Requirements

•  Strong Manufacturing and Industrial insurance sector experience is essential
•  Professional qualification of ACII or similar (preferable).
•  Strategic thinking.
•  Strong client relationship skills with experience of managing large industry clients.
•    Proposition building, market sizing and deployment of marketing and sales strategies.
•  Strong practical knowledge of account development and appropriate tools to achieve this aim.
•  Experience at new business sales process and track record of converting prospects to clients (preferable).
•  Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associate’s insurers, and external specialists.
•  Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
•  Experience of working with and adhering to processes and systems to support client services.
•  Experience of managing teams – setting and agreeing direction and objectives for individuals.
