Deputy Program Manager

Amentum is seeking a Deputy Program Manger to support the United States Geological Survey on the Technical Support Services Contract.

This candidate will\:

Manage and foster collaboration with multi-disciplinary and geographically separated teams and stakeholders to understand platform requirements and future efforts. Work directly under the Program Manager to drive daily operations and battle rhythm completion while providing status to incomplete tasks as appropriate. Work directly with technical Team Leads, Project Managers, and Asset Managers for coordination of routine maintenance, break/fix repair, and planned changes, coordinating any down time with the other appropriate leadership and stakeholders. Interface and coordinate with the technical staff on requirements for submitting and completing work within the Earth Research and Observation Science (EROS) Center. Identify and participate in improvement of EROS O&M processes. Assist in coordination of sustainment and maintenance efforts to integrate their critical capabilities into the contract baseline, while meeting center test objectives and schedules. Directly support the asset management team with the organized tracking of all hardware and software assets for the EROS platform and supported tenants. Clearly communicate procurement needs with accurate cost to the Program Manager. Assist project teams with de-confliction of resources for daily operations and tenant program efforts. Support discrete project proposals and responses to Request for Services (RFS) by providing best estimates of timelines, costs, etc. as required, coordinate with EROS leadership and staff regarding outage and degradation identification and reporting. Utilize approved work tracking tools for all approved changes on EROS baselined systems. Provide support as required for documentation and process updates, in conjunction with approved work vehicles and the change management process. Strong and effective communication, problem solving, organizational and delegation skills. Be a self-starter able to perform tasks successfully with minimum guidance under short timelines, and must have the ability to manage shifting work priorities. Be curious and willing to learn new concepts and technology types.

Qualifications\:

Basic Requirements\:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience\: HS Diploma (or GED) and 10 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 4 years of general experience. Must have 6 years of directly related experience. Must have 3 years’ experience in management or leadership roles. Must have 1 year experience in managing IT operations and maintenance. Must have experience in IT Project coordination and development. Must have direct experience with Microsoft product applications to include MS Project and Visio Must be able to travel 10% of the time to CONUS locations. Must have an active DoD Secret, or higher Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements\:

Experience in IT asset management or IT asset tracking and IT licensing structures. Have operations experience directly related to driving tasks in a diverse team. Have experience with managing and coordinating small projects. Experience with identifying and managing project risk. Experience with change management and ticketing systems like Remedy, Jira, and GitLab. Current ITILv4 certification. Current PMI project certification (CAPM or PMP). *
