Join the Project Management Team in a senior leadership role on a large nuclear capital project (>2B) for a mission critical spent fuel handling facility supporting our nation’s naval nuclear program. The project is currently in the procurement and construction phase. The successful candidate will become familiar with the project, the project team, and the client through assignment of critical and high visibility functions important to successful project delivery including client facing opportunities.
The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) will directly support the Project Manager with safe execution of the project the highest priority. The DPM will support both the day to day construction challenges, as well as the long range critical path solutions to keep the >$2B project on track and on budget. The DPM will be required to interface with the Client on a daily basis, as well as the major subcontracting partners that are onsite. The DPM will be integral to performance of the project providing focused attention to the projects critical path performance.

• This position requires a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility in Sr. management of construction projects
• Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering or related
• Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and within the client organization.
• Leadership experience working under government contracts with responsibility for maintaining contract compliance
• A detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and success focus under stressful conditions
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a high performing project team guided by clear project objectives and achievable goals.
• Experience in assessing complex issues and summarizing in concise and clear communications to team and client through reporting and verbal presentations
• Demonstrated experience in cross coordination and integration across package managers/Control Account Managers and multiple construction contractors
• Working knowledge of reading/assessing Schedule reports (P6) and cost reports
• Demonstrated experience in Variance Reporting, and monthly project reporting
• Experience on large multi-discipline construction projects, Nuclear Construction related projects or Nuclear Decommissioning Projects are a asset.
• Understanding of security protocols for physical and cyber related to nuclear facilities
• US Citizenship is required ( Please note that we will not sponsor an employment visa, such as an H 1B or related visa, to fill this position. )
• Security Clearance - “L” clearance or eligibility to obtain an “L”
• Travel to offices, client & government locations as needed (approximately 10%)
• Valid driver's license
**Ideally you will also have:**
• Working knowledge of ASME NQA-1 program
• DOE Experience including
o Large DOE nuclear projects, Large Commercial Nuclear Projects
o Earned Value Management System and Reporting
o Interface with DOE and regulatory authorities on a government owned, contractor operated Site
• PMP certification
• PE license with ability to obtain a PE in Idaho highly preferred
• MS in Engineering
• Experience with Structural Steel and Concrete
• Experience in new complex plant construction and system commissioning

Equipment and Machines:
• Standard office PC, with software will be provided
• Building Information Management Software
• Prolog (Database) software
Work Environment
• Construction Site at the Idaho National Lab, year round outside working conditions
• Collocated with the client
• Remote location, No access to the INL Bus system.
• Weather factors such as wind and extreme cold
• On-Site Security training is mandatory before performing project duties.
• Travel required to client and government offices as needed (approximately 10%)
• Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.
