This remote/hybrid position supports the Environmental Government Services (EGS) Operating Unit (OU) Quality Assurance Manager in all aspects of corporate and programmatic quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) functions. Includes auditing, reporting, developing, reviewing, and maintaining QA tools, and developing and presenting training materials. The EGS OU provides environmental consulting and engineering, remediation and field services, asset management, master planning, and information technology services to address government and commercial clients’ environmental and sustainability needs. Your Role:
Must understand and apply quality control and quality assurance concepts related to environmental consulting, such as problem identification, root cause analysis, development of corrective actions, and process improvement. The successful candidate will apply these principles when conducting audits and surveillances, interacting with technical and administrative staff, and providing quality related training to personnel. Development and evaluation of environmental investigation project management plans, project control plans, quality management plans, quality assurance project plans, audit plans, standard operating procedures, sampling and analysis plans, work plans, reports, and similar documents• Interacting with client quality assurance staff to resolve comments on documents and processes
• Conducting and reporting on audits and surveillances
• Tracking quality incidents and associated corrective actions
• Training staff on EGS OU specific and corporate quality requirements
• Supporting program managers, project managers, and programs on quality matters
• Directing other staff in the application of QA/QC requirements
• Troubleshooting/problem solving
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from an accredited four-year college or university in an engineering or scientific discipline is required; M.S is preferred. Emphasis on chemistry or environmental engineering is preferred because of the nature of interactions involving environmental consulting contracts. Experience in construction QA may also be considered advantageous. Formal training in the U.S. EPA quality system is desirable. Candidates with a working knowledge of U.S. EPA, USACE, U.S. DoD, and U.S. DOE quality standards will be favored; candidates may be asked to demonstrate knowledge of these standards. International Standards Organization (ISO) lead auditor certification or Lean Six-Sigma training is considered a plus. Certifications by American Society for Quality including Certified Manager of Quality/ Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) are also advantageous.
