Job Summary

 

The Deputy Quality Manager will be responsible for providing full operational support, to ensure product and process conformity across all value stream programs.

 

The Deputy Quality Manager will be responsible for developing expertise within the Quality Compliance, QCE and Operations Inspection teams, driving ownership of the processes to achieve the GKN and Customer requirements throughout the business.

 

The Deputy Quality Manager will manage and improve the documented Business Management System and all of the BMS system assurance functions.

Job Responsibilities

 

Typical responsibilities will include, but not be limited to (full job description available upon request):

 

Supporting site manufacturing process managers and leadership in assuring and improving the manufacturing processes and product quality performance. Leading and supporting improvement activities as assigned to deliver the strategic objectives. Coaching and identifying appropriate training programs to grow and develop each team member. Providing recognition and constructive feedback to the team members to help increase their performance, skills matrix etc. Developing, monitoring, measuring, and continually improving the department / site KPIs for Scrap, Permissions to ship, Pre-release, and MBs. Updating and maintaining in the appropriate systems, records for the department. E.G. time and attendance. Attending Change Control Boards and Corrective Action Board meetings to ensure conformance with BMS requirements. Ensuring that the function operates in accordance with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors. Providing Daily/Weekly management of the Archive department/processes. Assisting the Lead QCE in providing daily/weekly management of the QCE personnel/processes. Producing monthly Operational review reports for the Senior Management Review meetings. Providing support to the Quality Manager, Group Leaders and inspectors, establishing and developing continuous training and process improvements. Ensuring complete and continuous compliance of the site to the BMS requirements. Continually reviewing and providing updates to the company BMS and the associated policies, procedures and work instructions. Reporting on any issues that may have an impact on the company approvals and/or product/process integrity. Job Qualifications

 

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:

 

Experience of working in Quality Assurance Compliance or Lead auditing role. Experience in interpreting Regulatory, Customer and Engineering requirements. Experience of AS9100, ISO9001 and EASA part 21 and 145 requirements. Experience in the use of quality tools and continuous improvement techniques. (PFMEA, SPC, APQP etc.). Product First Article inspection and approval. Experience with quality assurance and quality compliance processes and tools, including risk management, auditing, APQP Knowledge of contracted customer quality requirements and other key stakeholders quality requirement Experience with RCCA/8D process; ability to assemble and lead team in effective sessions and identification of Root Cause An effective communicator verbally as well as written; ability to produce quick reports/presentation type material to leaders and managers as urgent situations arise Experience in MS applications/tools and quality tools such as non-conformance systems applications (TipQA, Qlik and/or SAP) Experience of leading a team of quality professionals, including mentoring and coaching skills necessary to develop others Understanding of Aerospace Regulatory requirements e.g. Part 21G, Part 145, and/or AS13100 where applicable Qualified auditor or lead auditor Commercially aware.
