Job Description:At Regions, the Treasury Portfolio Management Analyst supports the Bank’s Securities Portfolio Managers. The $30B+ Investment Portfolio within Corporate Treasury is managed to generate appropriate risk adjusted returns for the bank while facilitating asset/liability, capital, and liquidity strategies. The portfolios consist of Mortgage-Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (both Agency and Non-Agency), US Treasuries, Corporate Bonds, and other fixed income products. The Analyst will assist the Portfolio Manager in a variety of functions including reporting, reinvestment activities, strategy execution, trade attribution, and market research.
Primary Responsibilities
Assists and regularly takes ownership from Portfolio Managers in trade strategies, modeling, market analysis, trade booking, reporting and record keepingOwns Ad hoc portfolio reporting and analysis including strategy pro formaOversees paydown forecasting and reinvestment reporting processPerforms and proactively offers insight into market research and provides market color to Portfolio Managers and broader Treasury and Risk counterpartsPerforms credit surveillance for corporate bondsTracks Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) credits earned from investing in fixed income securitiesProduces monthly materials for the Asset-Liability Committee Meeting (ALCO)Produces reports for various other groups around the bank including Investor Relations and Regulatory ReportingPerforms quarterly Impairment analysis on credit portfolioPerforms impairment stress testing for capital planning and regulatory purposesAssists with month end price verification of securitiesInteracts with Wall Street counterpartsSupports other areas within the Balance Sheet Management team including Asset/Liability ManagementOffers advice and guidance to junior analysts, assisting in the development of necessary skills and the promotion of continuous improvement initiativesThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

The portfolios under management consist of balance sheet hedging derivatives and residential mortgage servicing rights (MSR) hedging derivatives. The bank’s Treasury department uses derivative financial instruments, primarily interest rate swaps and option contracts, to facilitate asset/liability management strategies. The bank’s Treasury department also uses various derivative instruments including swaps, futures, swaptions, and mortgage-backed securities to hedge the market value of its residential MSR asset.
The Derivatives Portfolio Analyst will assist the Derivatives Portfolio Manager in a variety of functions including trade strategy, execution, attribution, reporting, and market research.

Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.
