What we need:

 

The Design Associate is a newly established performer that works to create and develop high quality color and design work across multiple product platform types. This role provides support to the Product Design team, assisting in the coordination of design projects and contributing to the overall design process.

 

 

What you’ll do:

Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team. Using knowledge gained through resources, develop fundamental knowledge of functional practice, policy, and day-to-day execution requirements. Use artistic skills and design principles to develop exclusive visuals for desired resilient flooring products and prepare artwork for internal and external client approval. Responsible for developing design and color, while following instruction from management, from concept to completion in a timely manner, with some guidance. Use Industry standard software to create technically accurate and aesthetically innovative designs for specific machine types. May be responsible for collecting standard and dye formulation for each production run and calculating dye formula and consumption for each order.  Responsible for understanding and following manufacturing guidelines for product creation. Research flooring markets by participating in company supported research methods such as trend reports, subscription materials, and research outings.   Performs other duties as needed.

 

What you have:

 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 0-2 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) is desired (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) Technical knowledge of roto-gravure printing, digital printing, and flooring production processes preferred. For colorist-specific role, you must be able to pass a colorblind test.

 

 

What you’re good at:

 

Applies conceptual knowledge of the theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
