Design Civil/Structural Engineer – (Nuclear)
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing firm, and we are recruiting for an experienced Design Civil/Structural Engineer on a full-time permanent basis, starting as soon as possible.

Client Location: Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant in Oak Harbor, OH.
Residency: Local or Regional candidates are highly preferred.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is available
Additional: They work 4/10s, allowing for 3-day weekends each week. The company invests in assets. Location: It’s a great community in which to live. Lake Granbury is nearby, boasting a highly rated public school system, lower property taxes than elsewhere in TX, reasonable housing costs, and is 45 minutes to an hour from Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Job Summary
The Design Civil/Structural Engineer serves as a member of the Mechanical/Structural Design Engineering Unit at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. This group serves as the owner of the design and licensing basis for the station.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities Prepare engineering change packages for modifications to the station, including design drawings, vendor drawings, specifications, and other applicable documents Maintain civil and structural calculations up to date Assist in developing solutions to engineering technical issues in support of plant operation and maintenance Prepare technical reports and presentations on engineering technical issues as needed Support problem identification and resolution using the Corrective Action Program Perform walkdowns for monitoring of plant structures Ensure changes to the design requirements are identified, documented, controlled, evaluated, and approved Manage and complete assigned activities to support the timely implementation of required plant operations Maintain the plant design and licensing basis, complying with industry standards and regulations Participating in Problem Solving and Decision-Making teams, troubleshooting efforts, and developing repair strategies for plant equipment as necessary Supporting the Emergency Response Organization
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural) from an ABET-accredited institution (or international equivalent) is required 10 - 15 years of experience is preferred All levels of experience will be considered; previous engineering experience in the nuclear industry is highly desired Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain a PE license is highly desired Knowledge of AISC and ACI Codes required Must possess sound research, analytical, and technical abilities Must be able to work independently in leadership and mentoring roles with little supervisory involvement Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical ability Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make technical presentations to all levels of management Ability to work extended hours, shift schedules, and perform on-call duties when necessary Able to deliver quality and accurate work within established deadlines Must reside within site-specific Emergency Response Organization response time Familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant Design, licensing basis documents, and the processes used to maintain them is a plus.
Key Metrics Qualified to prepare complex design changes. Prepare engineering reports. Qualified to prepare complex 10CFR50.59 evaluations. Perform tasks in accordance with established expectations for nuclear safety and personnel safety. May be responsible for developing other employees in the area of expertise. Serves a lead role on projects, teams, processes, or programs. One of the few who possess abilities not easily gained and of significant depth in specific area(s) of expertise.
