Job Overview

We are seeking a Design Director to join our Design team at Mercer. You will be joining us in building Oliver Wyman’s new in-house creative hub in Lisbon.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Design Director, you will lead the charge in ensuring design excellence across all creative outputs, elevating the visual quality and maintaining consistency with our brand standards. We will count on you to:

Oversee and ensure the quality of all design outputs, maintaining alignment with brand guidelines.

Develop and implement scalable design systems and frameworks for use across all platforms.

Review and refine creative work, providing hands-on feedback to elevate design quality.

Drive innovation in visual design, identifying opportunities to push boundaries while ensuring consistency.

Mentor and guide designers to improve their technical and creative skills.

Collaborate with the Art Director, Creative Director, and cross-functional teams to ensure flawless execution of concepts.

Optimize creative processes and workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery.

What makes you stand out?

Proven expertise in design leadership with a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design craft and quality.

Extensive experience in building and managing design systems and creative workflows.

Strong knowledge of typography, layout, and other core design principles.

Ability to provide detailed, constructive feedback to drive the team’s creative development.

Exceptional organizational and communication skills to manage resources and ensure efficiency.

Experience working with global teams and navigating cross-cultural collaboration.

Why join our team:

We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.

We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.

Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
