Hexcel is currently seeking a Design Engineer 3 for our Kent, WA, USA location. 

Summary pay range: $73,398 - $125,824 annual salary.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Utilize CATIA V5 for MBD tool designs for the manufacture of composite parts.Utilize CATIA V5 for Creation of digital programs for 5-Axis CNC machines, Water Jets, Cloth Cutting Machines, and Laser Projectors.Work with internal and external customers to define requirements and possible trade-off for design alternatives.Provide overall project management including internal and external suppliers to support new projects and upgrades/improvements to existing systems.Work with vendors and internal departments to help procure, quote, and make modifications to new and existing tools.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, CAD models, and customer specifications.Communicate with OEM’s to resolve difficult technical issues.Operate at all times in compliance with the Hexcel Kent policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct, Quality System and Quality Policy, Safety and Environmental policies.Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment. Actively support the elimination of actual and potential safety issues, unsafe acts and/or conditions to preclude accidents.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline from a four-year college or university.  Mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred.5+ years of applicable experience in the aerospace industry preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.5+ years of experience in design for manufacturing roles (tools, parts, and/or machine design).Previous work experience or advanced academic training in a minimum of one the following, multiple preferred: tool design, CNC Programming, Composite part process development, CATIA V5 design.Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.Must be able to read blueprints, read/interpret engineering drawings, and read/understand regulations and procedures.Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and in the use of CATIA V5 or equivalent software.
