Position Summary: 

Under general supervision, performs design functions to develop new or re-design existing products. Works from requirements or instructions to design and develop complex new components or redesign existing components to improve the organization’s products. Determines and establishes specifications through engineering calculations and layouts. Makes changes to or modifies existing products. Selects components and materials, and is responsible for completing detailed drawings and accurate Bill of Materials, along all pertinent documentation as needed. Oversees the assembly and tests of engineering prototypes.
