Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Joint Use Design Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting fiber broadband initiatives and managing infrastructure shared with third-party utilities. You will be responsible for handling Joint Use applications from implementation to completion, including all field reviews, pole landing, Make Ready engineering, and post-construction reviews.
ResponsibilitiesField review of pole application strand parts.Perform pole loading analysis and sag calculations.Review strand part with third-party attaching companies or contractors.Complete Make Ready stacking packages with estimates for invoicing.Manage the job through make ready construction phase to application approval.Work order reconciliation and closeout.Post inspection of Joint Use attachments.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD.Experience in design and fiber utility.Knowledge of pole loading analysis and inspection.Understanding of electrical distribution and broadband fiber.Expertise in field review and infrastructure inspection.Ability to perform structural analysis and communication design.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in electrical engineering.Ability to coordinate with agencies like VDOT, VMRC, and the EPA for permitting.Strong project management skills to oversee projects from application through final approval.Collaboration skills to work with third-party attachers and contractors ensuring compliance and safety.Work Environment
The position offers a flexible work schedule with an employee-owned company. Initially, you will work in the office for three days a week for the first 3-6 months, after which you can transition to remote work. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
