Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will use CAD systems to design 3D detailed components, create multi-level 3D assemblies, and produce detailed component and assembly 2D print drawings. You will also perform first article inspections/evaluations of newly sourced products, conduct physical functional testing in test and assembly areas, and research material strengths and properties. You will be responsible for making changes and updates to product specifications, distributing product specifications within the organization, maintaining master BOM/Assembly drawings, and verifying consistency across BOMs and part numbering. Additionally, you will assist in creating and updating installation instructions to incorporate engineering changes.

ResponsibilitiesUse CAD system to design 3D detailed components.Create multi-level 3D assemblies.Create detailed component and assembly 2D print drawings.Perform first article inspection/evaluation of newly sourced products.Conduct physical functional testing of products in test and assembly areas.Research or test material strengths, behaviors, and physical properties.Perform changes and updates to product specifications using CAD system.Distribute product specifications to various departments within the organization.Maintain master BOM/Assembly drawings for all company products.Verify that BOMs in MRP system are identical to master drawings.Ensure part numbering is consistent throughout all BOMs.Assist in creating installation instructions.Update existing installation instructions to incorporate engineering changes.Essential SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software with 2-5+ years of experience.Experience in metal and mechanical product design.Expertise in 3D CAD design from A-Z.Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with AutoCAD.Experience working with multi-level BOMs.Experience with MRP/ERP systems.Knowledge of various metal manufacturing processes.Work Environment

You will work 100% onsite in a family-friendly environment. Our facilities include three large production and assembly buildings, with a total of 300 employees, 4-5 of whom are in the engineering department. We operate Monday through Friday and primarily handle assembly, coating, inspection, finishing, and shipping/receiving in California, with manufacturing outsourced. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
