The role and opportunity
As a Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing designs for new products, projects, and components with a leading surface blasting company. Collaboration across departments is essential, ensuring that every design meets technical requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations.
Create detailed design drawings, specifications, and models using SolidWorks and AutoCADPerform engineering analysis to assess design options, materials, and manufacturing processesCollaborate with sales managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives, including preparing layout drawings for customer approvalConduct design reviews and integrate feedback to enhance product performance and reliabilitySupport prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure design feasibility and functionalityEnsure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policiesPrepare technical documentation, including design reports, manuals, bills of materials (BOMs), method statements, and risk assessmentsTroubleshoot design-related issues and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycleOversee the day-to-day management of projectsConduct site surveys as needed and liaise with customers to meet installation requirementsContribute to research and development (R&D) activities as required
Our ideal candidate
HNC/bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, or a related fieldProven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role in manufacturing/engineeringProficiency in CAD software e.g., SolidWorks and AutoCADStrong understanding of engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processesExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesAttention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workIf this sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, click to apply!
