Job Summary
Responsible for delivery of new designs from the concept stage to the development of prototypes through to finished products ready for manufacture. Drive creative thinking, ensure customer needs are considered and work along with the operations team to ensure products are designed for efficient manufacture. Also, as part of Application Engineering, the incumbent shall be responsible for providing feasibility of Special Purpose Machines, horns, fixtures, conduct trials to ensure achievement of desired quality, and visit customer sites as needed for fixing.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Prepares new designs from the concept stage to the development of prototypes through to finished products ready for manufacture. Meets departmental objectives of quality, cost, and on-time delivery. VW Fixture design, Ultrasonic holding fixture Design. Provide technical leadership to train employees. Communicate and coordinate needs with support staff. Maintain open communication with planning. Obtain vital resources from Purchasing, Product. Implements quality controls and procedures to yield products that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations as well as all BUC quality objectives. Implement required documentation to maintain work order continuity in team member's absence. Responsible for tool trial results and implications. Replying to RFQs. Feasibility Study of the applications related to the tooling business. Take care of the ECNs and modifications required. Work on Concept Designs with layout study & process study. Responsible for design of part/component welding & machining tools, assembly tools, jigs & fixture design. Meeting with Manufacturing team to resolve all issues pertaining to design and provide solutions. Responsible for tool trial results and implications. If required, travel to customer sites as required for technical discussions, tool trials etc. Creating CAD models for the product ranges (parts & assemblies). Create manufacturing drawing for the parts. Preparation of BOM and Documentation. If required, travel to customer sites as required for technical discussions, tool trials etc.Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need:
Sound knowledge of plastic welding machine.
• Sound knowledge of plastic welding jigs and fixture.
• Listen and able to understand customer requirement.
• Understand engineering drawings (Parts/components, assembly drawings) and be able to work out the requirements for tool design.
• Applies appropriate methods which focus on robust design, like tolerance, standards, and design rules.
• Travel to different customer place as required for technical discussion, tool trail etc.
• Generate support documentations from CAD (as applicable) like exploded views, Dim-drawings.
• Expert in 3D-Modeling and 2D-drafting.
• Broad Knowledge in Engineering Basics & GD&T principles.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing & insight into welding processes and material properties.
• Good at Written and verbal communication.
Diploma/Bachelor of Engineering in Plastics or Mechanical -CIEPT- DESIGN / CAD/CAM/CAE
