Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and support cross functional design teams in a collaborative environment to develop and launch new products.
Lead design teams in building relationships with business partners internal and external to the company.
Communicate with all levels of the business, utilizing best practices and appropriate key performance indicators (KPI)
Understand the requirements of customers, product management, regulatory, codes, standards, manufacturing, and quality.
Lead and support the review and definition of marketing requirement documents.
Create/author project technical specifications and charter documents.
Develop designs that meet project marketing requirements, technical specifications, and charter documents.
Manage the planning, design, prototype procurement, testing, and documentation, iterating as required, through the Mueller phase gate system to develop new products.
Lead and contribute to project-level design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) sessions with cross functional teams.
Lead the cross-functional design team in production of high quality design documentation, in the form of test reports, drawings, and various analyses.
Lead the investigation and resolution of design performance or characteristics deviations via root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify and implement effective corrective actions.

Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in Mechanical design using CREO or Solidworks or equivalent CAD software
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Working knowledge of casting, machine, and painting processes.
Working knowledge of testing methodologies, testing processes, and standards.
Working knowledge of DFMEAs and root cause analysis
Preferred:
GD&T knowledge
Mechanical FEA and/or CFD experience
Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt
PMP certification
FE/EIT or PE
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
