Responsibilities Design Steel Decking according to Steel Deck Institute standardsReview and develop engineering tools specific to steel deckRoof/floor designs for projects including Retail Buildings, Schools, Warehouses, etc.Provide engineering direction to detailing, design, sales and production departmentsInterpret contract documents and communicate with Architects/Engineers of Record/Fabricators on product design requirementsDesign Joists, Joist Girders per Steel Joist Institute standardsBecome conversant in AISC, AISI, SJI, and SDI codes and specs Qualifications

Required:

B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent for Civil P.E. qualificationMinimum Civil E.I.T. certification with desire to become Civil P.E.Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

Prior steel deck industry or structural steel design experiencePrior steel joist industry experienceCivil P.E. certification
