Job Title: Design Engineering Manager

As a Design Engineering Manager, you'll orchestrate the efforts of your engineering team to ensure projects meet specifications, deadlines, and budget requirements. Key Responsibilities:
Innovative Design: Lead the design, control, and implementation of mechanical structures and products, with a special focus on aerospace and industrial connector contacts.Manufacturing Processes: Develop and refine manufacturing processes in accordance with global engineering codes and standards.Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from conception to timely delivery, ensuring they meet all specifications and budget constraints.Customer Collaboration: Collaborate with customers and team members to define product needs and requirements, ensuring alignment with customer needs and safety standards.Research & Development: Conduct research to develop new applications and processes, summarizing data and reporting on test results.Process Management: Maintain the functionality of Process and Product Development Engineer duties, examining the need for new equipment, calculating costs, and assisting with budget preparation.Continuous Improvement: Continuously enhance company products and processes, attending or designating coverage for essential meetings.Team Leadership: Lead engineering team meetings, drive actions, and monitor progress of engineer and engineering technician activities in support of product qualification and value stream team objectives.Documentation: Ensure the utilization of formal documentation techniques and execute departmental administrative duties related to attendance, purchase requisitions, and performance management systems.Essential Skills:
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and mechanical design.Leadership: Strong management and leadership skills with experience in Mil-Spec Contacts, ITAR, EAR, and FMEA.Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and project management principles.Electronics Expertise: Experience in electronics, electronics connectors, and aircraft/avionics systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Tech Savvy: Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and SharePoint.ERP Systems: Knowledge of ERP systems, with SAP preferred.Design Software: Skills in using 2D and/or 3D design software.Practical Knowledge: Familiarity with machines, production plants, and sites.Mentorship: Ability to mentor and coach interns, engineers, and technical staff.Communication: Strong communication skills, reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice.Independence: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Attention to Detail: Meticulous in documentation and adherence to specifications.Lean Manufacturing Environment: Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment.Aircraft Systems: Knowledge about the operation and design of aircraft systems and familiarity with regulatory certification requirements for aircraft electrical and avionics systems.Work Environment:

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
