The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to manage, train, and coach a team of talented Design Engineers within our bioprocessing division.

In this role, you will play a key part in driving innovation and efficiency within our engineering team, working on complex single-use projects for our customers in the bioprocessing industry. Your expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks will be instrumental in developing technical approval drawings, selecting the right subcomponents, and ensuring all designs meet functional and operational requirements. What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a results-driven leader with:

A Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Mechanical Engineering, Operational Technology, or a similar field—or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Solid and demonstrable experience in a technical engineering or manufacturing role, with at least 1 year of leadership experience.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software.

Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and suppliers.

The ability to grasp complex technical concepts and apply them to customer processes.

A solid understanding of engineering KPIs to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Fluency in English (Dutch and additional languages are a plus).

Willingness to travel to customer locations to support sales and technical opportunities.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled design engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Manage the creation of both basic and highly technical approval drawings, translating customer needs into precise engineering solutions.

Drive the successful execution of large-scale NON-GMP single-use projects.

Engage directly with end customers to develop tailored single-use solutions for their production needs.

Oversee the selection of appropriate subcomponents, ensuring optimal performance under varying conditions such as temperature and pressure.

Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimations to ensure designs meet both business and customer requirements.

Maintain a comprehensive library of engineering documents and subcomponent data.

Assist in resolving customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner, strengthening long-term business relationships.

Play a pivotal role in advancing Avantor Bioprocessing’s engineering excellence and customer satisfaction goals.
