Responsible for managing operationally a team of IP design engineers (IP = Installation & Piping) for a given project (water / wastewater treatment plant). Design Engineers are responsible for the production of the 3D Model and 2D drawings required for a given project (water / wastewater treatment plant), either at proposal stage (project tendering) or at project execution stage (basic and detailed design). They are responsible for studying and designing the various water treatment units and buildings composing the plant and produces all related design deliverables (3D Modeling, layout drawings, civil guide drawings, general assembly drawings, piping isometrics and supports drawings…) with respect to the technical and contractual requirements of the project, and within project schedule and budget. Manages the production of the design team (and/or produces directly), is responsible for the work distribution for the IP discipline, for the checking of the design deliverables (3D model, 2D drawings, BOQ), and ensures that the deliverables related to the IP discipline are produced within time, quality and budget and part of the project engineering team, which is led by one Engineering Manager / Technical Coordinator.
The IP Design Leader leads the team of IP design engineers who have the following tasks:
etc.To produce 2D drawings for the basic design (layout & networks drawings, civil guide drawings, general arrangement drawings) and for the detailed design (detailed drawings such as isometrics, piping supports, cable trays routing, etc) with the associated BOQ To develop the design by applying standard practice and proper rules in terms of piping routing and supporting, access and maintenance consideration, and compliant with ergonomic and safety rules (including company standards). To contribute to the optimization of the project during the design development stage. To produce deliverables (documents, drawings) free of errors and inconsistencies, by performing au self-check of their own production. To follow and apply BIM requirements imposed by the project or the Client Depending on the project and the progress, the IP Design Leader can be directly in charge of the tasks above. In addition, the IP Design Leader is directly responsible for the following, on the project assigned to him/her: Distributing the work between the design team members Participating to the integration and induction of the joiners (grooming to enhance technical and organizational skills of the design team) Ensuring the production is made according to project schedule Performing 3D Model reviews with the engineering team of the project Checking all deliverables produced by the design team (technical review of the documents) • Following the productivity of the design team of the project The IP Design Leader also ensures that the design team works closely with other engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, hydraulics, electricity, civil…) in order to incorporate all technical constraints and contributes to the global coherence of the design.
