About the Role

An opportunity has become available for a Design Manger located in Carrara QLD reporting into the Engineering Delivery Manager. The Design Manager is responsible for managing all elements of engineering detail design within the project sphere including the design consultants with an accountability of achieving integration of the design. The ideal candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:

Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual obligations including design assurance, manufacturing liaison, materials compliance and engineering change Responsible for ensuring that effective systems are implemented and utilised on the project which deliver defined business objectives whilst ensuring overall compliance to regulatory and customer requirements Managing the interface with other functions outside of engineering, e.g. project controls and procurement Providing project leadership to the discipline leads on the project Taking accountability for the project budget and forecast data and taking corrective action (if required) in consultation with project leads and discipline manager(s)

About You 

Experienced Design Manager within the Mineral Sands or Mineral Processing industry  Track record delivering/ leading multidiscipline engineering detail designs of a range of $5M to $10M in engineering revenue Able to develop accurate design budget estimate and regularly forecast cost(s) to complete Tertiary qualified professional Engineer, ideally holding a EA membership Demonstrated high degree of safety awareness, including appreciation of client site specific safety requirements Team player, with ability to teach and guide other team members Ability to interact effectively with clients at key decision maker level Good verbal and written communication skills
