The Brake Interface Components Design Release Engineer is responsible for the design and validation of brake tubes, brake hoses, and wheel speed sensors. The position will include all aspects of component design to ensure all system and vehicle level functional objectives are met. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the release of the components, bill of material, CAD drawings, design verification plan, physical testing, management of suppliers, issuing change notices, vehicle build support, issue resolution, and PPAP.
The engineer will:
Interface with Vehicle Engineering, suppliers, Purchasing, Quality and Assembly Plants. Manage product performance to meet functional, cost and weight targets. Perform product release and change management processes. Direct packaging in vehicle environment. Manage supplier and internal DVPR’s and DFMEA’s. Support AQP, PSO, product launch and ongoing maintenance of carryover product. Be responsible for design and release of designated components. Develop and refine routings for brake tubes, brake hoses, and wheel speed sensors, considering functional, safety, reliability, and performance requirements.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical Engineering or related degree field. 3+ years' experience Aptitude for mechanical engineering demonstrated by work experience or academic projects. Strong communication skills, including the ability to interface with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
