The ideal DSA (Designated Selling Associate) Salesperson is a leader in customer service, product knowledge education, merchandising, selling, and growing both their customer base and business. DSAs drive volume for Nordstrom while championing the brand they represent. The customer’s satisfaction and loyalty are top of mind. They deliver on sales targets by knowing brand performance, cultivate relationships with both existing and new customers, and educate peers on brand trends, product knowledge, and style.
A day in the life…
Set and achieve daily targets aligned to sales plans or sell thru goals
Provide honest and confident feedback to customers about style, fit, features and benefits, and recommend additional or alternate items based on product expertise and customer needs
Seek fashion and product education from their brand representatives and stay current on trends and inspiration for the brand they support
Cultivate lasting relationships with customers
Drive predictable business through appointment-based selling
Build relationships and partnerships with other DSAs, Stylists, and surrounding departments by extending themselves and conducting DSA run product knowledge meetings
Grow sales and customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts
Drive sales through reservation tool and digital selling
Attend department meetings & product knowledge trainings to build expertise
Provide consistent and actionable monthly product feedback to merchant team and brand partner to influence future assortments more in line with customer needs
Partner with the department manager and lead ensuring front of house and back of house presentation meets brand and Nordstrom standards
Give the best service to our customers on their terms which may require all employees to be flexible and open to occasionally performing work/duties in a department (or Brand) other than the one you were hired into

You own this if you have…
Proven track record of delivering on sales targets and customer service
The ability to read sales reporting in relation to goals and strategize ways to meet targets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with customers and key store partners
Understand how to educate customers on product features and benefits; suggesting based on what will work for them
Confidence with high/low price points and the ability to showcase to customers the value of the item and how it completes their entire wardrobe
A strong understanding of customers’ holistic wardrobe and style, along with a high degree of organization, to be able to cultivate the relationship with outreach and suggestive selling
The ability to excel in a competitive team environment
The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
