Your Role

As a Gensler Designer, you will develop design solutions and provide project coordination for all project phases, from concept to construction.  As a member of the Vancouver studio, you will be a part of a team that creates impactful and memorable experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime.  We are looking for a designer with interiors technical detailing subject matter expertise who will focus on national and international projects.

What You Will Do

Working with Design Director(s) and project team(s), participate in all project phases, including planning and programming, conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production

Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives

Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions

Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings

Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination

Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning program

Contribute to thought leadership, event and network attendance

Your Qualifications

Accredited degree in architecture, interior design, or as an architectural technologist required

2-5 years of professional commercial architecture and/or interiors experience

Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, examples Revit, Enscape, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Grasshopper, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.  High levels of work experience in Revit required

Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and local BC building codes

Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas

Strong organizations skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, Passive House, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview

*This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be expected to live in, or relocate to, the area of the Vancouver, BC office upon acceptance.
