POSITION TITLE: Graphic Designer - AE
REPORTS TO: Design Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Work within the AE Graphic Design team and implement the category leader’s direction in all aspects of the design process, from initial concept stage to presentation, to development and execution of the final product.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design main body of graphics for all products including graphic tees, fleece and accessories Create AE Brand graphics that remain true to our heritage Delivering newness and Innovation is key. Elevate the brand aesthetic by delivering on trend fashion graphics. Organize and own seasonal assortment of graphics for chain/web/international needs Collaborate with Production team on graphic scale, placement and print quality Work with Design/ Concept teams to establish direction and interpret into artwork appropriate for brand Provide production ready artwork, in both print and electronic format, for internal and external partners Work with junior team members to maintain library Research and create new trends in graphic design and production techniques. Create graphic design concepts and board presentation for each season. Collaborate on seasonal rig and provide graphic direction. Manage and provide art direction for direct reports with graphic scale, concept and placement. Organize all graphics by season and concept Develop Linesheet and color scheme for each seasons table and wall graphic tee program Perform other duties as required In person/in-office collaboration is required, the frequency of such in-person/in-office collaboration (e.g., portion of week, entire week) is dictated by business needs. Such collaboration includes work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education). Experience working in Apparel. 5+ years related experience Keen eye for color, trend and detail Able to multi-task and prioritize based on business objectives Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop/Indesign) Ability to translate trends into AE handwriting through a customer lens Ability to act as liaison between many departments, excellent communication, and analytic skills. Must be detail oriented, computer literate and able to handle multiple tasks at once.PAY/BENEFITS INFORMATION: Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
