A REMOTE Designer/Checker job is available with our client in Albuquerque, NM. In this role you will be collaborating with our engineering and manufacturing teams to check and verify a variety of technical drawings and models to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with industry and company standards. Additionally, this position offers opportunities to contribute to the design process. You will possess excellent Solidworks design and checking skills. To be considered for this role, you will have a Associate's or Bachelor's Degree and typically 5-7 years of relevant experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Produces redline and annotates drawings as needed to clearly communicate errors found during a review.
* Checks and verifies 2D technical drawings and 3D models to ensure they meet company standards and have all necessary technical information for manufacturability.
* Manages drawing review and approval workflows within a PDM Vault environment.
* Reads, interprets, and checks part machining, weldment, and assembly drawings
* Modifies, revises, and/or creates 2D technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks 2024.
* Supports the engineering team as needed by creating technical drawings and 3D models within deadlines and utilizes multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details.
* Works directly with engineers and managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices.
* Communicates findings, design updates, and technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
* Contributes to ongoing initiatives aimed at standardizing and unifying design documentation.
* Assists in meetings and prepares materials to support process improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in either mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, drafting and design, or other design discipline.
* Must be a U.S. Person (Perm Res/Green Card)
* Expert SolidWorks user with 5+ years" experience designing and drafting complex systems and
components.
* Experience with PDM Vault, management of large assemblies, understand versions, revision controlled
documents, and workflows.
* Experience with checking engineering drawings for technical completeness, clarity, conformance
to standards, dimensional accuracy, and specification of materials.
* Solid modeling and drawing creation, and ability to follow ASME 14.100 drafting standards.
* Good understanding of GD&T and application of ASME Y14.5 tolerancing.
* Good understanding of weldment drawings, applying ANSI/AWS A2.4 symbols and annotation
* Strong understanding of GD&T

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience with construction codes such as AWS D1.6, AWS D1.1 and ASME codes desired.
* Experience with weldments, electro-mechanical assemblies, machined parts, hydraulic and pneumatic systems desired.
* Experience designing with high temperature molten salt or other high temperature fluid systems desired.
