MITER Brands, also known as Milgard and MI Windows & Doors, is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are currently looking for a Designer II in Tacoma, WA. In this role you will develop engineering drawings, location support drawings and sales support drawings. Hourly wage is dependent on education and experience.

Responsibilities

Work safely by following company policy and using appropriate PPE requirements where necessary. Create and maintain detailed designs with 2D and 3D CAD software in accordance with drawing standards. Develop Engineering Drawings that documents design intent while working directly with the engineers. Develop Location Support Drawings that provide build information to production. Develop Sales Support Drawings that document product information for our customer’s specific orders. Properly file and help maintain the library of drawings in the PDM Vault

Requirements 

Associate degree from an accredited course of study in drafting/technical or related. Practical knowledge of drafting standards (ASME Y14), dimensioning, drawing layout and other areas common to creating mechanical drawings. Certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) 2-5 years’ experience creating Mechanical Drawings. Proficient using Solidworks 3D (Professional Level Certification) and AutoCAD 2D. Fluent in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Acute attention to detail, organizational skills, proven ability to meet deadlines. Customer focus both internally and externally. Strong communication skills in both written and verbal. Self-starter and ability to work independently
