The Role

Due to recently awarded long haul fibre projects with some of Australia’s biggest Telecommunications carriers we have a new position for a Designer reporting to the Design Manager. There is flexibility to be a hybrid role with a choice to work from either our North Sydney, Campbelltown or Auburn offices.

You will oversee and manage all aspects of design, for our ICF IEN projects ensuring all design works are completed to the expected level of quality, within budget, and on schedule.Responsibilities include;

Route planningLiaising with Design Partners and Planners to ensure compliance to client requirementsManage Design Partner schedule to ensure on time deliverySeeking and obtaining client clarification or approvalsManage and implement IFDVsDesign and create plans using AutoCADLiaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, and coordinate all activities, from planning to closeout.  Perform detailed quality audits and checks to ensure work meets standards across all aspects of the Design including:BOMBOQExternal cable routeCivilsExchange and Exchange DiversitySLDsDBoRsDesign ReportsLand access impacts and requirementsIdentify and mitigate risks and issues, communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders.Reporting to ensure timelines and deadlines are met

About You

In addition to continuously looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes, the following qualifications, education, and personal traits will be highly regarded.

DBORs experience is a must (Multiman, TPD, CMART, Net Facilities, CADLINK, MITS, Netmaps, SNOW)Hold a strong understanding of Telstra IEN, ICF or Wammara architecture and design requirementsStrong knowledge of all materials required for long haul fibre projectsExtensive experienced with AutoCAD and other design softwareTertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similarEffective communication and self-management skillsHigh level of attention to detail
