The Desk engineer is responsible for leading the monitoring and/or design/planning and/or support processes on well operations of complex wells by analyzing well data, selecting appropriate tools, simulating potential downhole conditions, and creating detailed job plans to ensure safe and efficient execution of thru-tubing operations in an oil or gas well. 

They are typically who provide the main engineering interface with the client if required. Provides technical support to Engineering team to deliver the safest most efficient plans to develop the project meeting all expectations and will take part in tender responses related to these projects. They follow their PL process and provide planning and real time decision support to Weatherford colleagues (Operations, Sales, Management, etc) and clients.

Preferred:

Working knowledge in specific expertise in several well intervention standards: Experience in structural, mechanical and hydraulic engineering experience in addition to wells are essential. Hands-on exp in project planning, project management and deliveryAbility to analyze a wide variety of well data sets and use them in providing Well Intervention Engineering solutions.Practical and results orientated to deliver a plan encompassing all inputs that can be safely executed. Excellent written and verbal communication. Highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering disciplineMin 2+ years relevant Thru Tubing / Well ServicesExperience in Well Intervention projects.

Provide technical assistance to client whenever possible.Providing real-time technical guidance to the field crew during the intervention, troubleshooting issues, and making adjustments to the job plan as needed. Reviewing wellbore information like pressure, temperature, depth, and formation properties to assess feasibility of Thru Tubing / Well Services interventions. Designing the complete Thru Tubing / Well Services operation including tool selection, fluid volumes, pressure calculations, and operational sequence based on well data and desired intervention goals. Choosing the appropriate coiled tubing size, downhole tools (e.g., milling tools, packers, etc) based on the well conditions and intervention requirements.Identifying potential hazards and mitigating strategies during the thru-tubing operation to ensure safety.Calculating the estimated cost of the Thru Tubing / Well Services job based on equipment, personnel, and operational time.  Callout when scheduled. Must be available for weekly on-call rotation 24/7 at different intervals.Communicate effectively with field crews and clients. Promote technical excellence image of Company and Segment (publish papers, attend/ present at public forums, and otherwise gain recognition for the Segment products and services). Comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. Carry out work assignments with the highest level of service delivery. Be available for after-hours support to on-going operations as needed. Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by PL Manager within the physical constraints of the job.Using specialized software to simulate Thru Tubing / Well Services operations (e.g., milling, fishing, etc).Respond promptly to customer requests.Filing and other administrative duties as required.Instrumental in tender order management and quoting specific customer requirements.Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Quality.
