Desktop Support Technician
Description We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team. This role involves repairing and maintaining a large inventory of desktops, laptops, and other PC devices, as well as installing new equipment to replace end-of-life cycle hardware. The technician will also manage inventory and ensure proper disposal of outdated equipment through recycling, in accordance with company policies. Additionally, the technician will maintain and close work orders in the ticketing system, under the oversight of the Field Tech Manager to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and methodologies. Key Responsibilities: + Repair and Maintenance: + Repair and maintain thousands of desktops, laptops, and other PC devices. + Install new PCs and laptops to replace end-of-life cycle equipment. + Inventory Management: + Maintain inventory of equipment and ensure proper disposal of outdated items through recycling. + Work Order Management: + Maintain and close work orders in the ticketing system. + Technical Assistance: + Provide expert-level technical assistance for desktop-supported applications and hardware. + Handle escalated support issues from the helpdesk and Enterprise Support Center. + Compliance and Oversight: + Follow policies, procedures, and methodologies as directed by the Field Tech Manager. Required Skills and Experience: + Technical Proficiency: + Extensive knowledge of desktop technology, including operating systems, applications, hardware, laptop systems, desktop printer support, PDAs, BlackBerries, and other supported wireless devices and peripherals. + Experience with call tracking software, remote desktop management tools, and conflict resolution. + Experience: + 4-7 years of experience in desktop support. + Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field. + Ability to plan and accomplish goals with limited supervision, demonstrating creativity and latitude. + Technical Skills: + Proficiency in Windows 10, PC hardware, O365, imaging, Active Directory, and Chrome Books. + Experience with RMS (Service Center), LANDesk, MS Office 2003, Cisco equipment, hubs, routers, and local area networks. + Knowledge of web and Windows services, Citrix, HP, IBM-compatible PCs, and IT technologies. + Soft Skills: + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent customer service and communication skills, both oral and written. + Good organizational and interpersonal skills. + Ability to handle conflict effectively. + Additional Requirements: + Experience supporting a large user base (2000+ users). + Ability to work independently, often as the sole technician at a location. + Responsible for reimaging PCs and providing extensive printer support. + Willingness to travel occasionally to other locations using personal vehicle. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
