Desktop Support Technician Onsite-Elkhart, IN Technical Summary + Desktop Experience + Image & Deploy + Windows OS + PXE + Active Directory + Troubleshooting + CompTIA certification or in progress Job Description We are hiring 1 Desktop Imaging Technician to deploy 300+ Windows machines. This role will be responsible for creating an image through PXE and setting up this image through new hardware bought by corporate. You will also be working with Shuttle Machines which are similar to thin clients that sit on the shop floor. Essential Duties + Support desktops/laptops, servers, network infrastructure and provides hardware/software support to end users by performing the following duties. + Design, specify, configure, install, and maintain network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, switches, cabling, and Internet service providers. + Follow policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, license, use, support, security, and backup as outlined by Director of Information Technology. + Image and reimage machines through PXE. + Consult with department managers to implement system solutions consistent with organizational objectives. + Create new user accounts and provides ongoing maintenance for network users, user environment, directories, and security. + Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. + Provide training to end users on software and equipment usage; responds to resolve help desk issues. + Communicate standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data. + Collaborate with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems. + Install and test software upgrades; collects and analyzes network and memory utilization; and develops and implements disaster recovery procedures. + Manage data backup hardware/software and media retention, consistent with corporate procedure. + Ensure that data backups are running successfully in the environment. + Research and evaluate new technologies. + Participate in contract negotiations or coordinate activities with hardware, software and telecommunications vendors. Work Environment + Onsite 5x per week + Manufacturing- (Steele Toed Boots Required) + 1st shift 8am-5pm + No weekends + Dress is Business Casual + Ability to travel is a must as this tech will be supporting multiple sites + Travel expenses will be covered Interviews & Start Date + 2-step interview + 1st Round: HR Screen + 2nd Round: Technical Screening + Start Date: March 31, 2025 Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
