To continue laying the groundwork, challenge what's possible and celebrate the power of inclusion, we seek to partner with driven individuals who are ready to elevate their career with us. *SUMMARY:*Responsible for the administration and day-to-day operation, maintenance, and security of the network communications suite on the Military Sealift Command (MSC) T-AK vessels. *GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*Assist management in establishing policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, security controls and the disaster recovery process. Maintain network component inventory and related documentations of technical specifications. Performs upgrades, monitors, troubleshoot and repair network hardware and software problems. Operate and monitor MSC Squadron Lan/IT/Communication equipment. Monitors and tests network performance. Monitor network security procedures to safeguard systems from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users and damage to date. Implement and enforce network security controls and disaster recovery procedures. Maintain the integrity of the network, server deployment and security. Administer and maintain the EKMS local element account in accordance with COMSCINST 2280.3 (series)/EKMS 1, 3 and 5 (series). *EDUCATION:*Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business or a related field; equivalent combination of post high school education and experience. In addition, to a certification in computer science or information systems. *EXPERIENCE:*5 years’ direct experience operating and maintaining Command, Control, Communication, and Information System (C4S) hardware and associated software, or equivalent systems on military vessels. *TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:*Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Proficient in operating unclassified and classified C4S systems in accordance with Commander, Military Sealift Command (COMSC) N6 instructions. *COMPETENCIES:*Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to develop process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of, a team. Ability to interface business applications with other systems. Ability to utilize problem solving skills. Ability to identify and/or document existing trends, as well as evaluate their impact on the organization. Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures. *OTHER:*US citizen in possession of a US Passport and hold a Secret Security Clearance. *JOB SCOPE:*Position impacts the entire organization. *WORKING CONDITIONS:*Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders.
