Developer Relations Lead (Marketing)

If so, lets talk. Your Role and Responsibilities As our Developer Relations Lead, you'll be the bridge between our products and the developer community, reporting to the product marketing team. You'll analyze developer experiences, collaborate with engineering teams on product features, create technical content, and engage with developers through various channels. Your insights will inform product strategy and marketing initiatives, ensuring our offerings resonate with developers. At IBM, we understand the importance of flexibility, so this is a hybrid role requiring 3-days a week in the office. User Journey Analysis * Conduct comprehensive research to map and understand the complete user journey for our products * Collaborate with product teams to identify key touchpoints, pain points, and opportunities at each stage of the user journey * Develop and refine user personas relevant to the Indian tech market and global developer community Go-to-market Alignment * Develop and execute strategies that align with the user journey and product lifecycle * Create go-to-market plans for new features and products, ensuring they address user needs at different journey stages * Collaborate with product management to influence product roadmap based on user journey insights Product Adoption Initiatives * Design and implement programs to increase product adoption and user engagement * Work with sales and customer success teams to develop materials that address common user challenges and highlight product value * Identify opportunities for user education and training to enhance product utilization Performance Analysis and Optimization * Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of technical marketing initiatives across the user journey * Analyze user behavior, feedback, and product usage data to inform marketing strategies and product improvements * Provide regular reports on marketing performance and recommendations for optimization Cross-functional Leadership * Lead cross-functional teams to align product development, marketing, and customer experience efforts * Collaborate with UX researchers and designers to incorporate user insights into marketing strategies * Act as a technical liaison between marketing, product, and engineering teams Required Technical and Professional Expertise * 5+ years of experience in technical marketing or product marketing in the software industry * Strong understanding of software development processes, user experience principles, and technology trends * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable marketing strategies * Proven track record in driving product adoption through marketing initiatives * Experience with market analysis, competitive intelligence, and product positioning Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise * Experience in user journey mapping and persona development * Familiarity with agile methodologies and product development lifecycles * Knowledge of the AI ecosystem and global developer communities * Experience with marketing automation and analytics tools * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field; MBA is a plus About Business UnitIBM Corporate Headquarters (CHQ) team represents a variety of functions such as marketing, finance, legal, operations, HR, and more, all working together to solve some of the world's most complex problems, help our clients achieve success and build collaborative work environments for IBMers. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
