Job Summary
The Development Coordinator plays an integral support role within the Mass General Development Office. With appropriate guidance, the Coordinator handles various administrative processes/tasks for the supported team.As a Coordinator, you will collaborate with colleagues and other support professionals in the department and will have access to a variety of networking, learning and leadership opportunities. Development Coordinators are talented, dynamic and valued colleagues who serve as partners and collaborators in several teams across the department.
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized and collegial, eager to learn and grow in a collaborative, mission-driven organization.
• Manage calendars and all logistics and follow up for meetings and events.
• Process business expenses.
• Manage business travel arrangements.
• Draft and/or review correspondence and other materials.
• Support various team projects.
• Handle assigned operational and administrative tasks, as needed.
• Complete gift booking forms, maintain fundraising data-entry and action items in a donor database, handle basic fundraising prospect research, prepare meeting agendas and materials, and prepare fundraising reports (applicable to coordinators in frontline fundraising teams.)
• Be an engaged and active participant and collaborator within the team and across the department and institution, engaging in healthy and productive activities and contributing to the overall positive office environment.
• Participate in professional development and stay well-informed of philanthropy trends and practices.
• Demonstrate high integrity and professionalism.
• Adhere to the mission, credo, and standards of behavior of Mass General Hospital.
Qualifications
The position requires 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or relationship-building role. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills, abilities and attitudes:
Command of Microsoft Suite, or the ability to learn quickly.Competency using videoconferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams preferred).Data entry or data management proficiency (Blackbaud CRM or Raiser’s Edge preferred).Excellent attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational, time management and project management skills.Excellent follow-through and ability to meet deadlines.Interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.Desire and motivation to learn about the organization and philanthropy.Awareness of personal work styles in self and others.Adaptability and flexibility in times of shifting priorities.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences.
