The campus is comprised of 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital; a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. Job Details Nurse Educator RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide specialized clinical expertise and skill, acting as a support person and role model for the nursing staff. Serves as a clinical resource to staff in the application of relevant research findings to practice Assess clinical skills and learning needs of the nursing staff. Collaborate with leadership and nursing preceptors in evaluating and promoting development amongst the nursing staff. Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and standards of patient care relevant to clinical practice Manage education of staff, including employees' orientation to the unit, standards of care, and competencies. Design, plan, and implement a criteria-based staff development program to meet the clinical needs of all nursing care team members Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the overall orientation and continuing education programs for the Nursing department Take an active role in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education and patient education programs, and other educational projects as requested Actively participate in unit departmental and interdisciplinary programs, meetings and conferences to assist with changing trends in the delivery of patient care Engage in unit specific performance improvement initiatives and assist in addressing knowledge deficits identified through unit-based monitoring QUALIFICATIONS: Passion for Nursing Education 5+ Years of RN acute care nursing experience Leadership or Nursing Education experience preferred Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Certifications: BCLS Instructor certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Salary Range USD $62.04 - USD $77.55 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
