The Development Engineer is responsible for leading new product development projects, focusing on the design and testing of flexible endoscopes and associated components. The role includes managing international teams, overseeing the manufacturing transition, and ensuring on-time delivery of new products. The engineer works from the concept phase through pilot production, developing and documenting processes while collaborating with production and technical teams.

What you’ll be doing:

 

Lead new product development, upgrades, and improvements for flexible endoscopes. Design, test, and develop prototypes, including manufacturing transition. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production) and international teams to ensure project success. Develop and refine test protocols and process documentation. Investigate product failures and recommend corrective actions. Support manufacturability of designs, ensuring product performance meets specifications. Up to 15% domestic and international travel required.

What you’ll need to be considered:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a focus on mechanical design. 6+ years of experience in design or project engineering. 3+ years in medical product development. Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project). Experience leading project teams or supervising technical staff. Tool shop experience and strong knowledge of standard engineering practices.

Additional experience that will make you stand out:

International communication and collaboration skills. Project management experience. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Tool/machine shop experience.
