Development Fabricator, Project Kuiper
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

This role will be will work closely with mechanical and controls engineering teams to develop creative solutions to take this program for R&D, though design validation and into production.

Key job responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, modify or repair custom tooling & test equipment
- Work directly with engineering teams and technicians on design feedback DFM, project execution and commissioning
- Maintain GSE Tooling work area, stock of welding/fabrication consumables
- Ability to be flexible, support changing priorities and ambitious deadlines
- Support other development, production and facilities teams as required
- Must have valid driver’s license and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria.
- Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life
The Development Fabricator will bring to the table the unique approach of a fabricator to help solve engineering problems. You will work closely with Engineers, Technicians and Machine Shop personnel to produce and deliver one off fabricated fixtures and devices.

The Kuiper Tooling Ops (KTO) team The Tooling Operations team is a diverse group of Technicians who provide mechanical support to Project Kuiper. Delivering creative and effective solutions in real time is our forte.
