We are currently seeking a Development Lead to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (US-LA), United States (US).
Project Role: Development Lead
Lead software development for one or more systems/applications. Defines standards for software development, unit testing, and application security. Facilitate peer review process. Participate in requirements and functional design. Support the development of technical designs and system documentation. Participate in change management and release management processes.
Responsibilities:
Manages critical projects with general direction and may allocate some work to others. Supports large and critical software applications within the organization. Acts as a technical expert or advisor for one or more applications. Participates in (and may lead) projects where analysis of systems or data requires an in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and standards. Mentors and reviews work of less experienced team members. Executes schedules, costs, and documentation to ensure assigned projects come to successful conclusion. Initiates corrective action to stay on project schedules. Monitors and maintains applications and restores services for end users. Analyzes software and hardware problems and coordinates workable solutions. Manages, resolves, and documents issues and events related to system and environment availability. Develops action plans to prevent recurring problems and issues. Participates in root cause process related to defects, issues, and outages. Supports system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, coordination and deploying. Ensures availability and performance of systems and application environments through proactive as well as reactive analysis and maintenance. Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Oversees development processes, timelines, and deliverables. Ensures code quality and adherence to development standards. Collaborates with architects, analysts, and testers. Mentors junior developers and foster team growth.Required Skills
Minimum of 6 years state level health and human services projects experience Minimum of 6 years of experience applying broad knowledge of applications programming principles, web applications, interfaces, batch development using Java, Java Frameworks, and Java Libraries. Minimum of 6 years of experience conducting advanced work on standard applications programs including creating technical documentation, coding, testing, and debugging. Minimum of 6 years of experience integrating Java applications to external software components such as service-oriented architectures, enterprise service buses, business rules engines, electronic document management systems, master data management systems.
