Role

We are looking for a great people-person to join our team: A strong, committed, self-motivated, reliable, and analytically skilled team-player, owning and shaping the future of key services in SAP Business Technology Platform.

You will work as a part of a highly motivated team located both in Israel and Sofia.

As a Development Manager you will recruit, build, and manage a local agile team of developers.

Together you will grow expertise in the group’s services and will contribute to their ongoing development.

You will work together with the development leads, product owners and development operations colleagues in the group to create value for our stakeholders and customers.

You will support the effort to keep the services alive and stable at enterprise-grade level.

What you`ll do:

Product delivery - define product plans and execute against a committed delivery timeline. Manage the day-to-day activities of the development team (including developer on duty 24/7 support shifts and manager on duty shifts). Co-Product ownership together with the product owners. Together you will be responsible over complete software development lifecycle: designing, leading implementation, testing of new features and ensure adoption by stakeholders within a fast-paced, agile environment. Development expertise - provide functional and architectural guidance to the team. Technical hands-on - maintain a hands-on approach to deliver highly available and scalable services with strong focus on aspects such as: security, resiliency, observability, scalability, monitoring and FinOps. People management - management of people including active engagement, staffing, talent management, career aspirations, mentoring and enhancing skills of team members. Location leadership – Actively contribute and drive various leadership initiatives for the location e.g. cross unit collaboration, training plan execution, general administration, hiring & internship management, etc.

What you bring:

Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. 8+ years of experience in software product development with the focus on developing cloud services and solutions. Have a proven track record of building a culture of design excellence that develops high impact products. Strong advocate for agile development processes with experience implementing well-run, agile processes in multiple functions including development, QA, release & deployment. Ability to communicate vision and strategy effectively. Foster a robust, unified team atmosphere and empower the development team to engage in efficient, smooth cross-collaboration dynamics for optimized productivity. Effectively lead teams, manage customer incidents promptly and ensure concerns are addressed within the SLA period. Mentor and support other developers in solving technically challenging issues, enabling them to benefit from your extensive experience and expertise. Possess strong organizational skills and be comfortable with leading change. Partner with other teams and individuals across the organization to tackle intricate technical & business challenges.  Required technology exposure & experience: SaaS delivery based on microservice architecture. Container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes etc. Cloud integration and deployment on AWS, GCP or Azure. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go and Java. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and expertise in DevOps methodologies and principles. Results driven with excellent execution skills. Self-managed. Fluent English.

In SAP Central Cloud Services, we aim to provide the best-in-class end-to-end solutions for developers and LOBs creating, extending, and accessing SAP applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

We are building services that help both internal stakeholders and external customers adopt BTP with the highest technical standards.

Among these services you can find SAP Application Frontend (hosting and managing frontend applications for SAP external and internal customers), Unified Gateway (an entry point to SAP cloud solutions that offers traffic management, security, monitoring, and harmonization for SAP Intelligent Suite APIs) and the K8s infrastructure for Business Application Studio (development environment, tailored for efficient development of business applications for the Intelligent Enterprise).
