Development Officer

Job Summary

In this role, you will develop, plan, implement, and monitor aspects of the Foundation's fundraising efforts in conjunction with the Foundation President. Provide direction for prospect/donor research, identify, and cultivate new donors. Perform event management including, planning, organizing, and executing fundraising and community events. Perform stewardship functions for existing constituents on an ongoing basis. Assist Foundation President with special, and major gifts and capital campaign projects.

 

Responsibilities

• Set strategies and organize Foundation operations to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.

• Establish a presence in the community and demonstrate ability to lead activities that result in achievement of philanthropic goals to benefit CAMC Health Systems and the CAMC Foundation.

• Learn and possess detailed knowledge necessary to execute objectives and communicate CAMC strategic direction, programs, and initiative to various constituents.

• Manage a portfolio of fundraising events, inspiring, motivating, and stewarding donors and volunteers through the event.

• Meet fundraising targets for Golf Classic, Run for Your Life, Employee Emergency Fund, and other special events.

• Conduct and oversee all aspects of the CAMC Foundation Golf Classic with goals to increase participation, levels of contributions, and properly steward all gifts.

• Conducts and oversees the CAMC Foundation Run for Your Life with goals to increase number of participants, level of contributions, and properly steward all gifts.

• Responsible for components of the CAMC Employee Emergency Fund program with goals to increase awareness of the program, participation by employees in the program, levels of contributions, and properly stewards all employee gifts.

• Recruit and manage volunteers who are committed to assisting with various Foundation fundraising events.

• Manage event committees, volunteers, and donors; providing regular communication to motivate and inspire participants.

• Responsible for meeting peer-to-peer event participation and fundraising targets for events utilizing online social engagement platforms.

• Implements an effective donor stewardship and recognition plan in line with each event and for all secured gifts.

• Serve an assigned role in aspects of annual and capital campaigns being conducted.

· Responsible for social media marketing for events and fundraising initiatives as assigned.

• All other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

 Education 

• Bachelor's Degree (Required)

 Experience: Previous fundraising, public relations, government affairs, or similar experience preferred.
