The Development Officer (H) leads, develops, and implements key fundraising strategies and assists with guiding fundraising programs. The incumbent works to increase gifts through relationships with assigned prospects and constituents, coordinating major gift programs for UHealth as well as assisting in the planning and implementation of endowments and planned giving. The Incumbent leads internal meetings with key stakeholders and provides training and feedback to staff. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Manages a personal major gift donor/prospect portfolio with a primary focus on securing gifts. Assists with the development and implementation of a strategic fund-raising plan each year that includes measurable objectives and courses of action for all significant activity during the year. Identifies, cultivates and solicits major gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations and professional groups in support of university priorities. Builds and maintains relationships with individuals, their families, and/or other potential donors. Ensures past donors are regularly communicated with and re-solicited on a timely basis. Ensures proper recording of prospect strategies, actions, stages, and proposals. Manages day-to-day duties of Director of Advancement, Major Gifts and ensures development metrics are being met. Coordinates research of prospective donors and directs the development of fundraising plans for capital campaigns. Develops and submits written proposals, budgets, and other collateral materials as needed for securing philanthropic investments. Assists in the writing of solicitation proposals and acknowledgement letters: create and edit campaign materials. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant field Experience: Minimum 3 year of relevant experience Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: + Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence + Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form + Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships + Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail + Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel) + Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
