Lockheed Martin is seeking to hire an experienced Development Program Manager to lead a critical product development contract activity at our site in Chelmsford MA.


What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will manage the execution of technical, schedule, and cost performance of an engineering development contract for an advanced RF product supporting the Integrated Air & Missile Defense Line of Business. The effort is tasked with planning, coordinating, executing, and reporting results for all development activities associated with the design from contract award through qualification completion. As the development program manager, you will be the primary interface with Lockheed Martin management (in Chelmsford and Dallas) and to the external customer for all related activities. You will manage all cost and schedule for Earned Value Management performance and also ensure the program achieves all critical program milestones. Additionally, the role will require developing and executing strategies to achieve Design-to-cost targets of the end product and ensuring the product is positioned to successfully achieve transition-to-production goals post-qualification.


The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston, located about 25 miles northwest of the city and near historic Lowell and Nashua, NH. It's close to New Hampshire's White Mountains and ski areas to the north, while the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This colonial region features New England charm, great schools, shopping, and dining. From Chelmsford, Cape Cod is about 90 minutes away, New York City is 4.5 hours, and major ski resorts in New Hampshire and Vermont are 2 to 3 hours north. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. A company-sponsored Interim Secret is required prior to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 8 or more years of professional experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
• Demonstrated track record of planning and driving program execution for complex development activities
• Experience leading teams, developing strategies and plans, managing resources, and executing to meet objectives
• Strong communication and presentation experience; ability to effectively communicate across multiple organizational levels, internal and external customers
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, such as Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Desired Skills:
• Program Management experience in Development and Transition-to-Production product lifecycle environments
• Design-to-Cost target experience
• System qualification experience - creating plans, executing tests, and resolving issues
• Experience in risk identification and management, with experience in root cause/corrective action
• Growth mindset, with experience leveraging digital transformation resources for optimization and efficiency
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
