About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Development & Research Engineer focused on commercial engine Application and Installation (A&I) engineering support for CAT dealers, Perkins distributors, and direct OEM customers. This role will provide technical support throughout the product development lifecycle—including Concept, Design, Testing, and Reporting stages. The engineers will also support the Americas sales team, as well as Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives. Additionally, this position will contribute to A&I training programs across the Americas and provide global support for the A&I network on IPSD-LE/LPSD industrial engines.
What You Will Do
Support dealer, distributor, and direct OEM projects through A&I, guiding them through to production.
Ensure A&I capability across dealers and distributors in the Americas region.
Provide deep A&I expertise to support the global team on IPSD-LE/LPSD Industrial Engines.
Manage A&I services for the Americas region.
Assist Industrial sales teams by delivering technical A&I information to drive engine sales.
Build and maintain strong relationships with selling dealers and distributors in the Americas.
Oversee the development of Mechanical and Electronic A&I Guides to support NPI projects for IPSD-Large/LPSD Industrial Engines.
Manage and track A&I documentation in Salesforce to ensure production readiness and adherence to agreed timelines.
Represent the Voice of the Customer in NPI efforts to ensure engine systems meet customer requirements

Additional Information
Up to 25% Travel required
This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
