Purpose

To support the Transformational Gifts Team, the Development Specialist provides operational, event, and stewardship support, as well as strategic leadership. They initiate and assist with activities necessary to develop and implement individual cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and actions that align with institutional values and priorities.

ResponsibilitiesThe Development Specialist supports the TG team by managing calendars, travel, events, and confidential information to ensure the AVP/ED’s goals are achieved, including advancing their respective portfolios.The Development Specialist collaborates with team leadership to identify operational needs and develops, directs, and implements processes and programs.Maintain and communicate logistical and scheduling details to all relevant parties, serving as a liaison with the events team to coordinate key meeting times and day-of plans.Assist with special functions as needed, including attending events, greeting guests, managing registration, and ensuring all attendees have appropriate nametags.Development Specialists may coordinate and manage schedules, plan trips, arrange travel, and submit travel and entertainment reimbursements.Assist with recording contact reports, conducting prospect and donor research, managing donor stewardship projects, and enhancing internal team functions.Proactively develop creative ways to engage donors as additional development needs arise, and research or resolve internal and external questions related to stewardship plans.Research and address questions related to transformational donor stewardship.Serve as a liaison with Donor Relations to ensure stewardship initiatives are effectively planned, executed, and compliant with university, foundation, and federal regulations.Support constituent relations by performing or assisting with processes, events, communications, and other activities as needed.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree.At least one year of experience assisting with fundraising programs or performing complex administrative functions.Highly effective communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal). Project management skills. Capable of working independently and under pressure, while also engaging in collaboration between teams.Excellence in problem-analyzing, problem-solving, and customer service.Demonstrated high attention to details and accountability.Ability to use discretion and maintain integrity and professionalism.High degree of proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

A combination of 2-4 year of experience assisting with fundraising programs or performing complex administrative functions. More than five years of administrative assistance experience. Experience with VIP database and *DEFINE. Working knowledge of UT Austin's policies and procedures.

Salary Range

$56,000+ depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:
